WATCH: The Daily Show Skewers The Tap Fish Smartphone App

In a hilarious satire of free-to-play apps, the Daily Show recently skewered Tap Fish, a smartphone app in which players monitor a virtual aquarium and feed the virtual fish virtual fish food. 

The idea is to keep aquarium running smoothly, but of course if a fish dies, you can always buy another—for a whopping $99 per fish (the real price is four cents).

In this way, says the reporter, the money-sucking game teaches kids the valuable lesson that "if you kill something, you can throw money at it to keep it alive."
