I never want to belittle the incredible achievement that CD Projekt Red and Saber Interactive managed to bring The Witcher III to the Nintendo Switch, but when I fired it up recently for a new playthrough, I just couldn't deal with the visuals. It was nice in 2019, but not anymore. I'm playing on my Series X instead! Ah, much better…
I'm also playing The Thing: Remastered on PS5, which is a nice if slightly flawed take on the John Carpenter classic. Nightdive, as always, has done a great job in improving the performance and visuals.
What, no switch..? So yeah, I'm releasing something for review, but more on that soon!

I'd like to think I'll spend a few more hours in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake this weekend, maybe play a few more games Marvel Rivals with my friends and mark another island or two in Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood. But I'll be back at my parents' house for the holidays, so I'll put all that aside in favor of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo Switch Sports, and explaining the rules of Mario Party for the 100th time.
Ah, Christmas is near. Have a great time, people!

So many games I can't wait to get into. Unicorn Overlord is big, with Nine Sols, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, and Loco Motive waiting on its doorstep. I got Braid: Anniversary Edition on sale a few weeks ago, plus a sweet Railbound puzzler for 99 cents.
I also want to play more Yakuza and dive into Arco. I hear the latter has some issues on the Switch, but the 30% discount tempted me. Have a fantastic week everyone!

After beating Nine Sols, I'm a little into the game! I should go back to Trails through Daybreak, and I should run 1000xRESIST, but what did I do instead? Jumping between Balatro, Tetris DX on NSO and Arrest move 4 on PlayStation.
But I just found out that Arco is on sale and now I'm thinking of adding more to my backlog before 2025. Let's just say it's a little Christmas present for me.
We wish everyone a safe and healthy holiday season!

This weekend I'm on a PLANE again. I'll be taking my Switch, my Steam Deck, and my iPad, which means I'll have quite a selection, but me feel like I should probably play Brotherhood, which I supposedly pre-ordered a while ago and still haven't gotten around to playing.
In reality, though, I'll probably be playing a lot of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and maybe some of the games I buy on the Steam sale (Fields of Mistria, Empty strangerLorelei and laser eyes). Or my backlog. Spoilers: it's never my backlog…

'It was the night before Christmas and in the whole house not a creature had moved, not even a mouse… except me unpacking all my mini retro arcades, consoles and computers to display under the giant LCD in the living room. Tis the season for cozy retro gaming, and to keep the hosts and guests of all ages running amok this holiday season, I've reassembled all of my minis not just for decoration, but because I'm sure to spend the coming weeks going back to the classics on my SNES, Mega Drive and PC Engine minis. I suspect the latest addition to the group will be quite popular with people of a certain age: the Spectrum continues to impress unsuspecting people who stumble upon it sitting next to the A500 Mini.
I match of the week is still the New Star GP, now competing in the 1990s season championship. I also convinced my dad to buy the PS4 version on his PS5 and I really, REALLY love playing this arcade racing gem with the analog triggers. Someone at Nintendo is making notes for the next Switch Pro Ultra 2, right? There is absolutely no reason in this day and age not to take full advantage of the analog acceleration and braking in 'Mario Kart 9'.
Happy holidays, folks! See you soon after another complete playthrough of Secret of Man on SNES (Santa is in it if you don't remember).
(PS: The devs have reached out to me and assured me that world ten is indeed the last hurdle to conquering Abathor. Please continue?)
That's what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Let us know in the next poll which games you plan to launch in the next few days.
